This table was designed and built with the help of my brother Aidan Feeney. He welded the steel legs and milled some precision brass bushings that the Tabletop floats on and uses as points to secure the top to the base.

The overall table spans 96 inches x 50 inches and can seat more than 12 people.

The under structure consists of thick cherry beams that have been hand joined together and pinned into place using welded brackets.

The massive table came from two book matched pieces of air dried, old growth walnut.

The legs are held to the steel using wedged dowels, which pin the steel to the wood and prevent any movement in the thin steel.

An early sketch rendering of the piece for the clients reference.
